From Nags to Riches

brains

Haven’t had much time for arbing this morning so my current status is as per 10am with all matched on the Cheltenham bets.  Cheltenham and other big meetings can be great for early liquidity, but it takes it away from the other meetings somewhat.

So I’ve tied up approx £3,150 for a £51 profit so I’m going to be a bit more picky this afternoon to see if I can back another £30 or £40 quid with another £2000-£2500

MY TENT OR YOURS all matched now at 3.1 so my running total is £82 profit for the day so far.  Time for coffee

The bookies cut the price at about 09:15 and it drifted out to 3.2 to lay for a while before coming back in again.

Now Stan James have prices up, another £400 on MY TENT OR YOURS will give another £36 if matched at 3.1.  I am prepared to risk it since I already have some profit on here.  I also put £100 on THE DRUIDS NEPHEW at both Tote and BetFred for £15 total.  I need to keep an eye on the 13:30 in case MY TENT OR YOURS drifts.  Anything over 3.35 and I’m losing.

cheltenham-2012-03-12-08-24I couldn’t resist this one when it popped up.  Putting £400 on with Paddy Power gives £36 profit whilst cooking breakfast.  It ties up £1,364, so yields 2.64%  The price was 3.5 versus 3.1 – click on the thumbnail to see the full-sized image.

Good start with a win and a 3rd in the 2:40

in the 16:30 – but at least the price was high enough for some value if you had backed it each way

Shame it was only 2nd again, but good call for the e/w bet and early prices were very good

in the 16:50 – followed by the 17:30.  I know patience is key to being successful with horse racing tips, but the longer losing run can still seem daunting

The horse racing tips for Wednesday are now published

Another day of “nearly”, but the off-piste stuff reduced the losses and if you had the courage to go e/w in the 15:10, then the day was positive 😎 .  It’s just a shame that the official horse racing tips didn’t do so well

Given the earlier off-piste results, I’ll chance a couple of quid on it

You can always look at the in-play market to profit from our horse racing tips.  For example both tips in the 14:40 at Lingfield today traded around 4.0 in-play

To recall the words of a Boomtown Rats hit

The place win in the 17:20 was scant consolation for the plethora of placed horse that went before it.  To add insult to injury, there was nothing to be had in the 17:30 🙁

Choosing horse racing tips is never an exact science and if they all won – I would keep them to myself 🙂 But it is actually encouraging to have so many near misses.  It shows that our picks are pretty reasonable runners

Two close 2nd places to start the week off

It has now been three months since we started proofing our results with Racing Index, so it is now time to launch the website and the blog.  You will see that we have had some difficult periods on the all-weather and some of this may have been weather related.  Wilth all the cancelled and rearranged meetings, there have been a lot of horses entered in races they wouldn’t normally run.  Despite this, January and February (so far) have been pretty reasonable with 20.35 and 44.23 points respectively.  In retrospect, we might have been a bit premature in starting our proofing as we have made two recent changes to the selection process, one in December, and another earlier this month. All that is in the past and we’re looking forward to the start of the flat season in a month’s time.  So strap-in for a rollercoaster ride 🙂
